He’s done it! Our Commercial Director Tom Richards, completes his 10K a day in January challenge
Our Commercial Director Tom Richards, has completed his impressive January challenge of running 10KM everyday.
Tom was joined by a number of colleagues for his final run, which started at our head office and finished outside Trinity Winchester, the chosen charity for the event. The final run typifies the togetherness we have across the business, and was a fitting way to conclude the mammoth challenge. Here’s what Tom had to say about the event;
đââď¸ đ¨ 310K, 192 miles and 7.3 marathons all for the amazing Trinity Winchester
Thank you to everyone that has donated, motivated and run with me for this incredible charity. Homelessness is a subject I am particularly passionate about and I wanted to do something challenging during a time of year that is both physically and mentally demanding in terms of weather conditions etc. 28 of the 31 runs were done outside, with 25 of them done during the hours of darkness, in bid to try and replicate the brutal environment homeless people experience daily.
Last year Proceed Solutions raised significant funds through our Breathe Out initiative, with the success being driven by our Operations Director Delroy McGee however throughout 2023 it became clear there was a desire to do something locally, that our other office based colleagues could get involved with.
Following my first visit to trinity I was blown away by the dedication of their team and the environment they have created, not just giving homeless people shelter, and the basics, but also a path back to normality. They have different sessions each day focused on key topics like mental health, sexual harassment, domestic abuse, as well regular appointments available for doctors and dentists. Kirsty who runs the facility is so dedicated and passionate itâs hard not to be infected with her enthusiasm.
I appreciate January is also a tough month financially but if you can donate, then please do so via the below link. I promise you wonât regret it.
